Abstract

This study examines the complex historical and modern dynamics that define Muslim-Christian relations, tracing their development from early contacts to modern interfaith relations. As a result of theological differences, the relationship is also shaped by mutual histories, political interactions, and cultural exchange, with the outcome being a cycle of cooperation and conflict between these two world religions that has varied over time. Through a reading of source texts, historical events, and modern interfaith initiatives, the study offers a comprehensive view of how cooperation and tension have shaped the two religious communities. Of greatest concern is the promise of future cooperation founded upon mutual respect and shared moral values.
