Submission Guidelines

Hikmat International Journal of Arts and Social Sciences (HIJASS) provides a dedicated platform for scholars, researchers, and academicians to publish original, high-quality research articles. HIJASS is a biannual, peer-reviewed, double-blind academic journal. Manuscripts from a wide range of disciplines within arts and social sciences are welcomed.

Manuscript Submission

  • Authors must submit a soft copy of their manuscript via the Open Journal System (OJS)

  • To maintain anonymity during peer review, please exclude author names, titles, and affiliations from the uploaded document.
    Instead, enter all author details in the metadata fields at the time of submission.

  • A Turnitin Similarity Report must be uploaded along with the manuscript.

  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Each manuscript is evaluated by independent national and international referees who are experts in the relevant field.

  • The final decision to accept or reject a paper lies with the Editorial Board, based on the reviewers' recommendations.

Format Requirements

Language

HIJASS accepts articles in the following languages:

  • English

  • Urdu

  • Arabic

Document Format

  • Software: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)

  • Page Size: A4

  • Line Spacing: 1.5 throughout the manuscript

  • Page Numbering: Bottom-center of each page, beginning with the title page

Manuscript Structure

Please structure your article using the following sections in the given order:

  1. Title Page (on separate document)
  2. Abstract (150–250 words, with 3–6 keywords)
  3. Introduction
  4. Literature Review
  5. Research Questions/Objectives
  6. Research Methodology
  7. Discussion
  8. Results
  9. Conclusion / Recommendations (if any)
  10. References

Abstract & Keywords

  • Abstract must be concise (150–250 words) and summarize the research purpose, methodology, key findings, and implications.

  • Include 3 to 6 keywords immediately after the abstract.

References

  • Follow the Chicago Manual of Style (full note style) for citations and references.

  • All references must appear as footnotes, with complete bibliographic details.

  • All non-English terms must be properly transliterated and italicized.

  • Example:

    Al-Bukhārī, Al-Jāmiʻ al-Sahīh, Kitāb al-Itsām in Kitāb and Sunnah, chapter Qawl al-Nabī, Baʻath in Jamāʻ al-Kalām, vol. 6, p. 2654, hadith no. 6845.
